Cacao Ceremony at Danyasa

  • Danyasa Dominical (map)

"Cacao has always been considered a very powerful aphrodisiac, exotic food, and medicine by the Mesoamerican and South American cultures, such as the Mayans, Aztecs and Spanish conquistadors. Its Greek name Theobroma Cacao literally means ‘Food of the Gods, Thea (god), Broma (food), with the Maya word Ka’kau.‘

The Mayans also called it Chocol’ha, and used the verb chokola’j meaning, ‘to drink chocolate together,’ suggesting that cacao by it’s very nature needs to be drunk in a group."

Join us for our next group ceremony - this Friday, December 4th, 5:30 pm at Danyasa in Dominical.  RSVP - Info@Danyasa.com or 2787-0229
